C'est La Vie

I use your mind as a canvas to paint a story of anguish and suffering, using words as my paintbrush. Prepare to peer into my mind.

Hey everyone! My name is Jared. I love music with a passion and I love writing poems. Yes, I know my poems don't have that stereotypical poetic format and are in an essay-like paragraph form, but I write them like that. It's just easier. Maybe I'll switch it one day but for now I write in paragraphs! I'm attending Dartmouth College and loving it (dream school!).

So my main purpose for blogging is to post a few of my poems and rant about life. Just a warning, they can get gory or really hit you, but thats what I want to do. Hit people with my writing and let them know how I feel and that they aren't the only one feeling that way. My poems range from life's hardships and depression to love.

Feel free to re-blog if you like a poem. Ask me questions or give me feed back, but be polite please! I hope you enjoy my poems! :)

Oh, follow me please! I'll follow back :)

"Monsters are real, and ghosts are real too. They love inside us and sometimes they win"
The first time I read this quote I cried. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder when I was a child, anxiety disorder when I was a teenager, and borderline personality disorder 2 years ago. They all got worse as I got older. They are MY monsters, and they’ve almost killed me many times. I have 15 (or 16) tattoos and this is my favorite. It’s just 3 simple words, and it’s a simple tattoo, nothing special to anyone else, but they hit me so hard. It represents my hardships, but it also represents my strength. I’ve fought through so much, even though it seemed impossible to do so at times.
A few months after I got this I got “ghosts are real” on my other wrist.

2000 notes bless you all ❤️

I Fertilized Lettuce With My Period Blood, Then Made a Salad
In college, a friend who didn’t shave her armpits lent me her copy of Inga Muscio’s feminist treatise Cunt: A Declaration of Independence. Paging through it instantly gave me a ton of great ideas, like supporting female-run businesses and LGBT rights and checking out my vagina with a compact mirror. Then there were some I wasn’t immediately sold on, like abortion via reflexology and, more specifically, using menstrual blood as plant fertilizer.
The period-blood-fertilizer reference is buried among descriptions of alternative feminine-care products: “You can squeeze the blood out into a jar, fill it with water, and feed it to your houseplants, who… [a friend] assured me, ‘absolutely adore the stuff.’” Shocked, I googled the trend and, sure enough, found a few green-living and apocalypse-prep websites supporting the idea of gardening with the crimson wave.
Blood contains three primary plant macronutrients—nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Plants demand these in large amounts so they can actually survive or whatever. The granddaddy of the bloody nutrients, though, is nitrogen, which helps boost plants’ overall luster and growth. So, as a poor gardener and menstrual-cup enthusiast, I decided to collect my next cycle to help grow some plants.
